Description

The POF Phoenix 9mm Rifle, 35rd, Black Anodized is a dedicated 9x19mm platform built for work, not range toys. Patriot Ordnance Factory starts with a fully monolithic upper receiver—one solid piece of aluminum—then integrates the M-LOK handguard right into it. No rails coming loose, no barrel nut to fight. This is a direct blowback rifle that cycles standard 9mm service cartridges without fuss. It ships with POF’s own 35-round magazine and an ambidextrous forward charging handle, so lefties and righties both get a fair shake. Black anodized finish keeps corrosion off when you’re hauling it through wet brush or dusty truck beds. Per manufacturer specs, the action is simple, reliable, and built for hard use.

Key Features

  • Monolithic Upper Receiver – The upper and handguard are one piece of billet aluminum. Why it matters: Zero flex, zero shift, zero chance of losing zero. Your optic stays true even after bouncing in a saddlebag or taking a tumble off the tailgate.
  • Direct Blowback Action – No gas tube, no piston, no extra parts to foul or fail. Why it matters: Keeps the rifle running clean with cheap range ammo or defensive loads. Less cleaning, more shooting.
  • Ambidextrous Forward Charging Handle – Charging handle sits up front and works from either side. Why it matters: You don’t break your cheek weld to cycle the bolt, and left-handed shooters don’t get shortchanged.
  • 35-Round POF Magazine – Ships with one factory magazine. Why it matters: You get full capacity right out of the box, no hunting for aftermarket mags that might not feed.
  • Mission First Tactical Furniture – Grip and stock from MFT. Why it matters: Ergonomic, lightweight, and tough enough for ranch work. No sharp edges digging into your ribs when you sling it.

Who It’s For

This rifle is for ranchers, rural workers, and anyone who needs a tool that works every time. If you’re clearing coyotes out of the henhouse, patching fence line, or keeping your truck gun ready for varmints, the Phoenix delivers. It’s not a competition blaster—it’s a working 9mm carbine that runs on common ammo and doesn’t complain about dust, mud, or neglect.

Pros & Cons

  • Pro: Monolithic upper means rock-solid platform for optics and accessories.
  • Pro: Ambidextrous controls make it usable by any shooter in the crew.
  • Pro: Direct blowback is dead-nuts reliable with standard-pressure 9mm.
  • Con: No last-round bolt hold-open on the charging handle—you’ll have to manually lock the bolt back. It’s a minor inconvenience, but worth knowing if you’re used to AR-15 last-round features.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the POF Phoenix use Glock magazines?

No. The Phoenix ships with a proprietary POF 35-round magazine. It does not accept Glock-pattern or Colt-pattern 9mm magazines. Stick with the factory mags for reliable feeding.

Can I mount a suppressor on this rifle?

The barrel is not threaded from the factory. You’ll need a gunsmith to thread it, or look at aftermarket barrels if you want to run a can. Direct blowback also vents gas from the chamber, so suppressed use will be gassier than a piston system.

Is this California-legal?

As a semi-automatic centerfire rifle with a detachable magazine, it does not meet California’s assault weapons ban unless modified with a fixed magazine or featureless build. Check your local laws before ordering.

What kind of accuracy can I expect?

With the monolithic upper and free-floated barrel, expect 2-3 MOA at 50 yards with quality 9mm ammo. It’s not a precision rifle, but it’s minute-of-coyote accurate out to 100 yards.
