Description
Springfield Armory’s Kuna™ redefines the 9mm pistol category. Named after the European Pine Marten — Croatia’s national animal, depicted on Croatian currency and military insignia — the Kuna was developed in collaboration with HS Produkt, Croatia’s premier firearms manufacturer. This isn’t rebadged tech. It’s a genuine engineering partnership built on decades of roller-delayed expertise.
From a tactical standpoint, the Kuna’s roller-delayed action provides two critical advantages: reduced reciprocating mass and lower felt recoil. In a defensive or tactical scenario, those two factors translate directly to faster accurate follow-up shots and reduced shooter fatigue during extended engagements.

Tactical FAQ
How does this compare to the B&T APC9 or HK SP5?
The Kuna is priced significantly below both European competitors while offering comparable roller-delayed performance. At $999 street price vs. $2,000+ for SP5 or B&T, the Kuna offers exceptional value for the roller-delayed platform.
Is it NFA-regulated?
The base Kuna is a pistol — no NFA requirements. Adding a vertical foregrip would change its classification. Stick with an angled grip or brace to remain compliant.
What 9mm ammo runs best?
The roller-delayed system handles everything from standard FMJ to +P defensive loads without issue. It’s particularly smooth with subsonic 147gr loads for suppressed use.
